Meet our newest ABI Physician – Dr. Jeri Sue Plaxco

About

After graduating from Auburn University, Dr. Plaxco attended Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences receiving her DO degree in 2004. She completed a Transitional Internship at the University of Texas at Austin (Brackenridge Hospital) in 2005 and Diagnostic Radiology Residency training at the University of Kentucky in 2009. Dr. Plaxco became board certified in Diagnostic Radiology by the American Board of Radiology in June 2009.

After five fulfilling years in private practice as a general diagnostic radiologist, Dr. Plaxco completed a Breast Imaging Fellowship at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in June 2015 gaining subspecialty training in all modalities of Breast Imaging including mammography, tomosynthesis, breast ultrasound, breast MRI, and breast interventional procedures. Since July 2015, she has worked in private practice focusing primarily on Breast Imaging. Serving patients in the early detection, diagnosis, and staging of breast cancer, as well as the diagnosis of benign breast conditions, is her greatest professional privilege.

Dr. Plaxco currently is a member of the ACR’s Committee on Mammography Accreditation of the Commission on Quality and Safety; serves as a reviewer for the American College of Radiology’s Mammography Accreditation Program, and is on the Society of Breast Imaging’s Membership and SBI Connect Committees. She is a member of the Society of Breast Imaging, American College of Radiology, Radiological Society of North America, and American Roentgen Ray Society.
